    Drywall installation and repair

    By cooldude | February 12, 2012

Drywall refers to plasterboard. It is made of a number of panels that are built from gypsum plaster which is sandwiched between two sheets of thick paper. First of all you need to store the drywall in a flat manner so that there are no damages done to the edges. When you think about installing the drywall you need to draw chalk lines on to the sheets to mark the areas of cutting and joining. For the perfect thickness of the drywall you need to consult the architect of your house. For holding the drywall in place you can either use screws or you can apply a joining mixture known as mud. Repairing of the drywall often involves patching of the small holes with the help of a mixture known as spackle. Before that you need to measure the diameter of the hole and cut a piece of drywall to cover that hole. You need to make sure that the debris in the adjacent areas are removed to a large extent before applying the spackle.
